The Ring never corrupted him, even when he had to take it, he still managed to save Frodo with the intention of giving it back. So if nothing else, Frodo must have an incredible mental resilience. It turned Smeagol into Gollum and even corrupted Boromir just by being near him and he certainly wasn't a crook. I ask myself: could Frodo have done anything of what the others did without the burden of the ring? I mean to be fair I think carrying the ring is quite an accomplishment itself if you look at what it did to others. Merry took part in the big battle, killing multiple enemies, helping to take down an olifant and even saved Eowyn from the fucking Witch-King of Angmar.Īnd Sam? Apart from dragging and literally carrying Frodo to Mordor, along the way he fought a giant ass spider and saved frodo from a fucking mordor fortress, fighting and killing multiple orks at once in the process.
Pippin then lit the beacons to give Gondor a chance of victory, saved Gandalf by killing an ork in battle and saved Faramir from the fire. They then took down Isengard by recruiting the ents and killed multiple enemies themselves during the assault. Pippin and Merry were brave and led the uruks away from Frodo, again saving his ass.
